Well guys its finally time for the big reveal! If you haven’t already heard the news we are packing up and moving to the beach! We are spreading our wings, and taking a leap of faith! We are so excited about this new adventure and can not wait to share it all with you!
I will give you a quick little back story (well nothing is ever quick in the story department with me so you may as well get comfy) on how this all came to be.
About 2 years ago we purchased our first piece of land in Santa Rosa Beach, Fl. Its the cutest piece of land in a quaint little neighborhood on the bay side of town. We scored quite the deal on this little lot and didn’t really know what our intentions would exactly be with it but we knew at some point we would build a home on it. Possibly a second home, possibly a permanent home or maybe just an investment to hang on too. Well this purchase quickly lead to my husband getting his General Contracting License in Florida so we could build our own. We quickly purchased a home plan, sent it to engineering and its ready to go!
Well life got busy, we got side tracked and then some how stumbled upon another amazing deal in Florida. This time tho, it was in a cute little community ON 30A.
I like to attribute this stumbling to my weird hobby of constantly searching Zillow. If you haven’t figured out yet, for some reason I love homes, I love looking at all the different design ideas. My husband has always been involved in real estate and it has always just been part of our lives. It somehow satisfies some weird creative side of me I guess, even tho I don’t consider any of my design ideas or decor any where close to being legit. lol
Anyways, long story short we own a lot in this cute little community in Dune Allen Beach, that will be built out soon, all the finishes and interior changes designed by us! So if you want to be our neighbor let me know! Its going to be the cutest little beach house and walking distance to the Gulf!!
We also purchased an already built home in this same neighborhood, that I have referred to as our “beach house renovation” . It was brand new, had been used as the “model home” and was in desperate need of a make over! I like to always joke that we literally bought the ugliest house in the hood! But, the floor plan is amazing, it just needed a little TLC and we had a vision for it! It has turned out to be the cutest little beach cottage and will be our home for the next 9 months while we build our Coastal Farmhouse.

Beach Reno
We had been keeping our eyes open for a while looking for land in this area that was bigger than 1/10th of an acre. Guys, those are extremely hard to come by. Its so different than where we currently live where sprawling land is so readily available.
During frequent trips down we would occasionally drive around looking for lots for sale. One trip in particular my husband happened to run across a lot that was already cleared, and probably one of the biggest sized lots we have ever run across in that area, but it was not for sale. So he did some research, contacted the owner, asked if they were willing to sell and their response “make us an offer”had us both surprised but so excited! So we made an offer and it all worked out. It was just crazy how the timing of it all was so perfect. I like to believe that because of how it has all played out so well, it was just meant to be.
It is a gorgeous and unique piece of land because it has access from two roads, one on the front and one in the back. This makes it perfect for our plan of having a guest house and allowing us to have a separate entry for it. It is one of the larger lots in the area and will allow us to fit a home, a guest house and a pool. It is situated close to a dune lake right on 30A so we will have lake and gulf views from the second floor.
To give you a little perspective on lot sizes in this area of Florida compared to what our farmhouse in Georgia sits on : if our Georgia lot was in Florida you could fit 11 homes on it!!!

Once we got the land under contract it was time to start finding a house plan. I will admit this process was not easy for me. Nothing that I was finding seemed to compare to our farmhouse. I struggled for weeks and every time we found something, there would be a reason why it wasn’t the one. At one point I considered rebuilding our farmhouse and changing things up but where is the fun in that? So back to the drawing board we went.
Until I happened to be spending some time on social media one day NOT looking at houses for once and a house just randomly popped up. If you aren’t familiar with our farmhouse build story this is exactly how I came upon that house plan as well. Stopped me dead in my scroll, immediately screen shot it and sent it to my husband saying “this is the one”. A little beach house mixed with a little farmhouse – what are the odds??? And so began the process of finding out who built this home and then who was the architect. Luckily my husband has a long background in real estate and was able to track down the builder who was nice enough to then give us the name of the architect.
Well the architect called us back and I can’t even explain to you how awesome this connection has been. My husband happened to randomly mention my Instagram page and what are the odds that this architect already knew who we were and followed me on Insta?! You guys I about fell out of my chair when I heard this!!! lol It couldn’t have been more meant to be! Long story short, we have the best architect in town, his work is absolutely amazing and he is just the coolest guy.
We are so excited to partner up with Brian Stackable with Stackable + Mracek Design group.
They are an architectural design group based out of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and are responsible for a number of projects all along the coast of 30A both commercial and residential. You can see more of their amazing work on Houzz.com

So finally the big reveal! This is a custom home designed by Brian Stackable and has only been built one time in Watercolor. It is the perfect mix of coastal style and modern farmhouse style all in one. The exterior is so similar to our farmhouse and I’m sure you can now see why I was so drawn to this home! The interior is magazine worthy and I love the flow of the floor plan! We were even lucky enough to have been given a tour of this home with Brian! So cool that we got to actually walk through the floor plan prior to building it!

12 ft ceilings on the main floor, 10 ft ceilings on the second floor, wood beams, lots of shiplap and a gorgeous wall of windows and doors that open up to the pool area out back are just a few of its features! The wrap around front porch is just so grand and this picture doesn’t even do it justice until you are standing on it! I love the fact that one side is screened in which makes it a very useable space in Florida. We are back to a master on the main and one of the coolest design changes we made is having our closet connect to the laundry room! I am so excited about that part you guys! lol
We also got to design our guest house which will include a kitchen, living space, bedroom, bathroom and laundry. Guys you know the number one requirement on this list was a vaulted living space and I can not wait to see the end result of this! Its like designing a mini house and its so much fun!
So to sum things up there will be a ALOT of home building projects in our future in Santa Rosa Beach. We will be building a spec home on our original lot on the bay as well and hopefully one thing will lead to another and we will be in the game! It is something we have always dreamed of doing and we are so excited to be able to start this new journey on 30A!! Lots of home builds to share on the gram starting with our Coastal Farmhouse build 🙂
Well if you have made it this far into this post Thank you!! Thank you for sticking around and supporting us on this journey! Hopefully we can inspire you to never give up on a dream or something that you want to achieve.
