I’m so excited to finally reveal my guest bedroom makeover!! This has been in the works for a couple months now and Im so glad I can say its finally complete and I am in LOVE!

I started with a pretty good shell, the original wall color was Sherwin Williams Sea Salt which happens to be one of my absolute favorite colors. It is has a blue-gray hue with slightly cool undertones, perfect for that coastal vibe. Although I love this color and it is the main color throughout my entire beach cottage I felt that I needed a change for this particular space. My paint choices ranged from blush tones to blue/green tones and after about 12 paint samples I settled on Sherwin Williams Topsail. Its a beautiful blue color with subtle aqua tones that matched my window curtains perfectly.
My goal for this space was to be light, airy, relaxing, a little bit of girly flair mixed with a touch of coastal vibes. Lets just say I’m all over the place with my ideas in this space but Im learning that thats just how I roll when it comes to design. A little bit of, boho, whimsical and coastal vibes all mixed together!
Over the past year I have gone through quite a bit of bedding for this space trying to find the “the one”. Lets just say I have enough comforters and duvet covers now that I could probably furnish another home with all the bedding. I tend to gravitate towards colorful bedding but for this space I wanted my color to come from the walls, curtains, throw pillows and blankets.
Here are a few images of what I started with and the “in betweens” of the room transition.

The third time is always a charm right?! Fresh paint, new artwork, new rug, new bedding, new wall lighting all created such a brighter space!
After all this redecorating I still wanted to do something fun in this space. A wallpaper ceiling is something I have ALWAYS wanted to do. I even had a wallpaper brand in mind that I actually considered a few years ago for use in our farmhouse. So with that, began my search for the perfect print. It didn’t take long for me to settle on a gorgeous design from Hygge & West. I chose the Daydream Gold wallpaper, a whimsical design with gold accents. I love how it brings out the hints of gold in the window treatments and really ties the space together.

For the wallpaper installation we opted to hire a professional. Although my husband is pretty talented when in comes to all things home construction/building and we have hung wall coverings on our own, this one seemed a little out of our area of expertise. Luckily after a little bit of research back over the summer I found a local professional wallpaper guy who has been doing this for years. This is the second space in our home we have used him on and he does an absolutely amazing job!! Disassembling that king size bed and moving all the furniture out ended up been so worth it in the end!
